[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] U.S.-based asset manager Westwood Global Investments has acquired a stake exceeding 5% in South Korean game developer NCSoft.
According to a regulatory filing on June 8, Westwood holds 1,096,876 shares in NCSoft, representing a 5.09% ownership stake as of June 2.
The firm had previously accumulated shares through multiple purchases, holding a 4.99% stake as of June 1. It then acquired an additional 20,354 shares through on-market transactions on June 2, pushing its ownership above the 5% threshold and triggering a disclosure requirement.
Westwood stated that the investment was made for “pure investment purposes.”
