알파경제 - Delta Airlines Boeing 767 flew back after an emergency slide fell

[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Minyoung] An emergency slide fell after a Delta Airlines flight (Boeing B767) took off from New York on the 26th (local time) and returned to New York again. Recently, a Boeing airliner had an accident in January when a door plug was blown off while flying on a 737 Max.

According to foreign media such as the New York Times and ABC News, crew members of Delta Flight 520 heading from New York to Los Angeles (LA) reported to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) that noise and vibrations occur on the right wing shortly after takeoff.

The plane returned to John F. Kennedy Airport at 8:35 a.m., about an hour after the trip. There were 176 passengers, two pilots and five crew members on board, and there were no casualties.

The aircraft in the accident was a Boeing B767-300ER delivered in 1990. The average life span of an aircraft is about 30 years, but the aircraft has been operating for 34 years in excess of this.

Delta Airlines said the crew returned because they believed an emergency slide had fallen from one of the aircraft's emergency exits. It did not provide details on when, how and why the emergency slides were separated.
