알파경제 - Samsung Electronics receives 9 trillion won in semiconductor subsidies from the U.S

[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] The U.S. government announced on the 15th (local time) that it has decided to provide 6.4 billion dollars (about 8.9 trillion won) in subsidies under the Bando Act to Samsung Electronics, which invests in large-scale semiconductor production facilities in the U.S.

According to Reuters and others, U.S. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo said in a briefing the previous day that it will provide $6.4 billion in subsidies under the Peninsula Act for Samsung Electronics' investment in Texas high-tech semiconductor plants. In line with this, Samsung Electronics plans to invest 17 billion dollars (about 23.5 trillion won) in Taylor, Texas, to expand the size and investment target of the semiconductor plant under construction and invest a total of 45 billion dollars (about 62.3 trillion won) by 2030. This is more than twice the amount of existing investment.

Samsung Electronics plans to build a new semiconductor plant at its semiconductor production plant in Taylor, Texas from 2022, and build advanced R & D facilities along with packaging facilities to enter the US market.
