[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] KT SkyLife has acquired a stake in 'HoGak,' an AI-based unmanned sports broadcasting service company.

On the 24th, KT SkyLife announced that it will acquire a 23.78% stake (170,000 shares) in HoGak for 6.8 billion won. HoGak will receive funds from KT SkyLife through a third-party allocation of new shares.

'HoGak' was newly established in May this year through a physical split from YST, a company engaged in telecommunications networks, digital broadcasting, and XR (extended reality) businesses. 'HoGak' is also the name of a sports OTT (over-the-top) app. What sets 'HoGak' apart is its use of Pixellot's AI camera system to provide sports broadcasting solutions. This system enables sports broadcasting through automatic tracking without the need for separate camera operation personnel.
