[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] LG Innotek is on alert for the yield of foldable zoom actuators.
According to Alpha Economy coverage on the 7th, LG Innotek's production rate of Folded Zoom Actuator, which is scheduled to be supplied to Apple, is less than 50%.
"We understand that the production yield of folded zoom actuator produced by LG Innotek is well below the original target," said an official at LG Innotek. "The current yield remains between 40 and 50%, so we are making every effort to increase production yield internally."
According to D-Elec, LG Innotek and Jahwa Electronics are expected to account for 70% and 30% of the iPhone 15 series Folded Zoom OIS actuators to be released by Apple in the second half of the year, respectively.
Apple is planning to apply Folded Zoom for the first time to one of the top models of the iPhone 15 series this year.
In relation to this, LG Innotek did not give any official answer.
