[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Minyoung] Baemin has succeeded in opening more than 700 Starbucks stores. As a result, consumers will be able to order and receive products sold at Starbucks, including drinks, cakes and sandwiches, through the Baemin app.

Woowahan Brothers, the operator of Baemin, announced on the 3rd that it will start delivery service in partnership with SCK Company, a domestic Starbucks operator. It plans to test-run at 31 stores for three days from the 14th before expanding to 700 stores nationwide from the 18th. In other words, one-third of all Starbucks stores (about 1,900) are located in Baemin.

Starbucks stuck to the principle of 'non-delivery' and introduced its own delivery service Deliverers in November 2021. It was a time when normal store operations were difficult due to the spread of COVID-19. I left the service to delivery agencies that connect riders such as Bureung and Barogo.

Starbucks has maintained a deliverable despite the end of the dynamic. This was largely due to the spread of Starbucks deliveries through local delivery companies such as UberEATS not only in Korea but also in the U.S., Europe and Japan.

Starbucks has decided to expand its service as delivery has become a consumption trend. We decided to put the existing Deliverse store in Baemin. It is expected that consumer orders that do not use Starbucks apps but only use Baemin will increase significantly.
