Hanwha Energy Promotes Acquisition of Spanish Solar Facility Producer

[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Hanwha Energy is seeking to acquire QUANTICA Renovables, a Spanish solar energy company.

According to industry sources on the 28th, Hanwha Energy's Spanish power brand has decided to acquire QUANTICA Renovables and is in the final stages of the merger.

QUANTICA Renovables is a solar facility manufacturer with sales of 35 million euros (about 49 billion won) last year.

Hanwha Energy established a Spanish corporation in 2018 and is carrying out solar and energy storage (ESS) projects of about 3GW (Gigawatt) in Spain, Italy and Ireland.

If the two companies merge, the solar installation capacity to be secured is 80㎿ (megawatt) and the energy supply is 220GWh (Gigawatt hour).

Hanwha Energy has recently been actively engaged in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and asset sales in Spain and other European markets.
