[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] An employee accused of leaking the previous company's trade secrets while moving from Samsung Biologics to Lotte Biologics has been put on trial.
The Incheon District Prosecutors' Office said on the 23rd that it has indicted Lotte BioLogics employee A (39) without physical detention on charges of violating the law on preventing unfair competition and protecting trade secrets and breach of trust at work. However, a prosecution official said, "The circumstances of the conspiracy between the indicted employee and Lotte BioLogics have not been confirmed."
A is suspected of leaking the Quality Assurance Work Standard (SOP), Samsung BioLogics' trade secret data, while moving to Lotte BioLogics in June last year. The prosecution conducted an investigation after Samsung Biologics sued four employees who moved to Lotte Biologics from August to September last year, and only indicted A of them.
The prosecution cleared the other three of the charges after it was not confirmed that they had leaked trade secrets.
Samsung BioLogics and Lotte BioLogics continue to be in conflict over infringement of trade secrets. Samsung BioLogics previously filed an injunction against employees who moved to Lotte BioLogics to ban infringement of trade secrets. In July last year, it was partially cited by the Incheon District Court.
