[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] KT will start its healthcare business in Vietnam in earnest.

KT announced on the 14th that it will test-run two non-face-to-face health care services by August in cooperation with local hospitals, focusing on KT Healthcare Bina, a Vietnamese medical corporation established earlier this year.

A care coordinator will launch a "gastric cancer patient after discharge management" service that manages the aftereffects of surgery and side effects of anti-cancer drugs over the phone for 100 patients who have undergone stomach cancer surgery along with the National Cancer Center in Vietnam.

Hanoi University Hospital recruits 240 diabetics and provides remote care for chronic diseases. It is a method of establishing and achieving lifestyle goals such as blood sugar measurement, diet, exercise, and medication.

KT has set Vietnam as its starting point because it is pursuing a relatively open policy for digital health care and has high economic growth. KT plans to expand its digital healthcare business to the domestic market and neighboring Southeast Asian countries by developing digital transformation (DX) capabilities based on its business in Vietnam.
