[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Hyundai Engineering is going to enter the electric vehicle charging business in earnest as part of its new business.
As it was selected by the Ministry of Environment to support subsidies for charging electric vehicles this year, Hyundai Engineering announced on the 12th that it will expand its business by signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with various local governments to build infrastructure for charging electric vehicles.
Since registering as an electric vehicle charging business in September 2020, Hyundai Engineering has been carrying out a project to build an electric vehicle charging infrastructure for Hyundai Motor (005380) Group.
Since then, it has recently been selected as a slow and rapid sector support operator in the 2023 electric vehicle charging subsidy support project organized by the Ministry of Environment and has been able to receive some subsidies for electric vehicle charging facilities to be installed this year.
In October last year, an EVC (Electric Vehicle Charging service) team was established in the Asset Management Division to establish a dedicated business organization, and on the 3rd, it signed a three-way business agreement with Hyundai Motor, Kia and Woori Management㈜ for 'cooperation in the spread of charging infrastructure for apartment electric vehicles'.
Starting this year, Hyundai Engineering plans to actively build electric vehicle charging infrastructure facilities.
