[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] The key driver of the KOSDAQ rise is secondary batteries, especially eco-pro group stocks.
Shares of EcoproBM, a manufacturer of secondary battery cathode materials, surged 213% this year. Ecopro, a holding company, rose 24.70% on the 10th alone, soaring 556% from the beginning of the year.
EcoproHn, a manufacturer of materials related to environmental pollution, which is the same group but is not related to secondary batteries, also rose 80% compared to the beginning of the year. Meanwhile, Ecoprobm and Ecopro ranked first and second in market capitalization of KOSDAQ-listed companies. Ecoprobm market capitalization is chasing Naver beyond Kakao. Based on the closing price on the 10th, EcoProBM's market capitalization was about 28.6 trillion won, exceeding Kakao's market capitalization of 2.59 billion won.
It has already surpassed Naver, which has a market capitalization of about 31.6 trillion won. In terms of the total group companies, the total market capitalization of the three EcoPros reached about 48.4 trillion won, surpassing the total of four Kakao Group shares (Kakao, Kakao Bank, Kakao Pay and Kakao Games) worth 47.4 trillion won. Ecopro Group will announce its tentative performance in the first quarter of this year on the 11th. Good performance is expected due to good order performance and the resulting expansion of production capacity.
