[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun & Lee Joonhyun] SEOUL, September 19, 2025 – Samsung Electronics has successfully passed NVIDIA’s qualification test for its latest HBM3E 12-high (12-layer) memory, paving the way for volume supply to the U.S. AI chip giant.

According to industry sources on Friday, NVIDIA recently signed a supply agreement with Samsung, under which Samsung will provide approximately 10,000 units of HBM3E 12-high products that cleared qualification.

A Samsung Electronics official confirmed the development, saying the project is “proceeding as scheduled.”

The successful qualification marks a significant milestone for Samsung as it looks to strengthen its foothold in the rapidly expanding high-bandwidth memory (HBM) market, which is increasingly critical for AI accelerators, data centers, and next-generation GPUs.

Samsung’s entry into NVIDIA’s supply chain with HBM3E 12-high products comes amid intensifying competition with SK hynix and Micron, which are also racing to secure orders from global chipmakers.
