[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Doosan Bobcat, which posted record-high earnings last year, continued its remarkable growth in the first quarter of this year.
Doosan Bobcat said in a public announcement on the 26th that its operating profit in the first quarter of this year rose 90.2 percent year-on-year to 369.7 billion won. Sales rose 90.2% to 2.4051 trillion won and net profit was 207.5 billion won, respectively.
Behind this positive performance was the even growth of all product lines, mainly in North America. Sales in North America by dollar rose 55% year-on-year. Despite the weak euro, dollar sales in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) increased by 12%, while sales in Asia, Latin America, and ALAO decreased by 5%.
By product, 37% of small equipment, 42% of portable power and 43% of industrial vehicles showed even growth. Among small equipment, sales of GME (Agricultural and Landscape Equipment) products, including compact tractors and lawnmowers, are estimated to have increased by 55% in North America. Doosan Bobcat expects growth to continue.
