[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] A major Amazon Web Services (AWS) outage on October 20 disrupted multiple online platforms worldwide, including major AI services, gaming platforms, and cryptocurrency exchanges such as Coinbase.
AWS confirmed that a significant system failure occurred in its US-East-1 region, one of its most critical data centers, causing users to experience service interruptions and support limitations.
As the world’s largest cloud provider, AWS’s downtime triggered widespread service disruptions across industries. Coinbase said many users were unable to access their accounts due to the outage but assured that all customer funds remain secure while recovery efforts continue.
