[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] A Jeju Air passenger aircraft scheduled to depart from Weihai, China, to Incheon has been delayed after a mechanical issue was discovered.
According to Jeju Air on June 7, Flight 7C8504, which was scheduled to depart Weihai at 5:20 p.m. local time and arrive at Incheon International Airport at 7:30 p.m., has been delayed due to the issue.
The aircraft was carrying 123 passengers, who have been waiting at the airport in China for more than five hours as of now.
A Jeju Air official stated that the problem occurred in the engine ignition system and that maintenance crews are currently replacing the affected component. The airline emphasized that the delay is due to ongoing repair work and that the flight has not been canceled.
