[Apha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Seven complexes in Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province were included in the 293 private apartment complexes that the government decided to conduct a full investigation into the omission of steel bars.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said on the 1st that it will conduct a full survey of 293 complexes that have adopted a flat plate structure among private apartments nationwide that have been completed since 2017, apart from those ordered by the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH).
Of these, 105 complexes are currently under construction, and 188 complexes have already been moved in. Five of the seven complexes in the province, which are included in the survey, have been moved in and two are under construction.
Gangwon Self-Governing Province has recently been informed by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and is grasping the current situation.
The LH ordered apartment used a rubber plate structure in which the pillars directly support the slab (concrete ceiling) without horizontal beams only in the underground parking lot.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport will announce the schedule and method of inspecting 293 apartment complexes this month before starting a full-fledged inspection. Considering the fact that experts participate in the survey themselves, the safety inspection results are expected to come out in about three months. The results of the inspection are expected to have a significant impact.
As for the reason for setting 2017 as the standard for inspection, the government explained that it was in 2017 when LH introduced the Muryangpan structure in earnest.
