[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Doosan Bobcat announced on the 27th that it recorded sales of 2.366 trillion won and operating profit of 297.6 billion won in the third quarter.
Sales fell 0.5% year-on-year, while operating profit fell 6.1%. Operating profit ratio fell 0.7%p to 12.6%.
The company said, "Sales reached the previous year's level despite the reverse base effect of high growth in the previous year," and explained, "The decline in operating profit is due to active marketing costs."
Accumulated sales in the third quarter were 7.4433 trillion won and operating profit was 1.1338 trillion won, up 19 percent and 38 percent, respectively, from a year earlier. It recorded 1 trillion won in operating profit for the second consecutive year, surpassing 1.716 trillion won in annual operating profit last year in three quarters.
Doosan Bobcat succeeded in converting net cash for the first time, reducing its sequential deposit from $ 67 million at the end of the first half to minus $ 96 million this quarter.
By region, EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa) sales grew 13% due to increased demand for loaders in the Middle East market. North America remained at the previous year's level, while ALAO (Asia, Latin America, and Oceania) saw its sales fall 9% on-year due to the strong dollar.
