Hyundai Motor Group has invested $ 50 million in the startup of Semiconductor rock star’ Jim Keller

[Apha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Hyundai Motor Group has invested $50 million (64.2 billion won) in "Tenstorent," an artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductor startup led by genius semiconductor designers.

Hyundai Motors and Kia Motors announced on the 3rd that they are making a decision to secure high-performance semiconductors needed for the mobility industry, including automobiles that are transformed into electronic equipment. Tenstorrent recently raised $ 100 million in investment and Hyundai Motor Group accounted for half of it. Hyundai Motor has invested $ 30 million and Kia $ 20 million, respectively.

Tenstorrent is headquartered in Toronto, Canada. Jim Keller, CEO, recognized as an authority in the field of semiconductor design. He designed Apple iPhone's 'A chip', AMD's CPU 'Rizen' for PCs and Tesla's autonomous semiconductors.

In particular, the two companies said they plan to cooperate in robotics and future aviation mobility (AAM) as well as automotive semiconductors.
