[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] LG Electronics has joined hands with E-Mart, a large domestic distributor, to build an electric vehicle charging station.
LG Electronics and E-Mart held the opening ceremony of the electric vehicle charging station at the Dongtan branch of the Traders Hallsale Club on the 3rd, attended by officials including LG Electronics BS business manager Jang Ik-hwan, ID business manager Baek Ki-moon, EV charging business manager Seo Heung-gyu, and marketing manager of E-Mart Choi Jin-il.
Considering the stay time and convenience of E-Mart users, LG Electronics has installed a 100kW fast charger and a 7kW slow charger at more than 30 E-Mart stores across the country, and will continue to expand it in the future.
Last year, LG Electronics acquired Apple Mango (currently High Visor), an electric car charger manufacturer, and entered the electric vehicle charging solution business. Since May, it has been producing a total of four electric vehicle (EV) chargers, including rapid and slow speeds.
The 100-kilowatt rapid charger can charge two vehicles using DC combo adapters at the same time, enabling efficient space utilization. The 24-inch (approximately 60cm diagonal) screen mounted on the charger provides various information such as event guidance in consideration of the charging status as well as visitors' store stay time.
