[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Tax authorities have launched simultaneous tax audits of large private education companies such as Megastudy and SDIJ. It seems to be intended to dig into the tax evasion scandal in the private education industry.

According to the industry on the 28th, the National Tax Service sent investigators to Megastudy headquarters in Seocho-gu, Seoul earlier in the day to secure accounting books and tax-related data. The investigation is said to be an irregular (special) tax investigation, not a general regular tax investigation.

In addition to the "private education dinosaur" megastudy, tax audits have also been conducted on other large institutes. Most of the large academies, including SDIJ, Daesung Academy, Jongno Academy, and Etoos, are expected to be targeted by tax authorities soon.

The government is expected to closely look into whether there are any illegal or illegal aspects of the profit structure of the academy industry through tax audits.

It is known that there are many tax evasions in private institutes as cash payments are made around the expensive private tutoring market.
