[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Krafton chose an independent studio strategy (Scale-Up the Creative) to release more games.

A successful studio can receive external investment in the future, and even if it is converted from a subsidiary to an affiliate, it is not a bad strategy to increase IP because it is a single-roof family.

However, some insiders are also concerned that studios that do not produce results after the spin-off may be included in the possibility of future restructuring.

According to an analysis of Krafton's third-quarter business report on the 27th, the company has invested at least 1.395 trillion won in its development studio until Sept. 30 this year. In addition to PUBG, Bluehole, and Rising Wings Studios, which are major studios, there are a total of 12 such as Rising Wings, Striking Dispatch, and Dream Motion.

Among them, Unknown Worlds is the studio where Krafton invested the largest amount. It invested 855.186 billion won. Krafton owns 100% of the studio.

In addition, the company invested an average of around 30 billion won to build a development studio, and released Vector North, Relu Games and Flyway Games this year. Except for Neon Giants, Krafton owns 100% of the shares.
