According to data submitted by the Financial Services Commission on the 26th, Lotte Card has provided MyData services to 196 users under the age of 19 until recently since the launch of MyData service last year. MyData is a service that collects scattered personal credit information in one place and recommends customized financial products by analyzing financial status and consumption patterns.
According to related supervisory regulations, a user under the age of 19 must first check whether his or her legal representative has agreed to use his or her credit information management service in order to use the service. However, Lotte Card provided services to minors without such procedures.
Lotte Card cited the omission of the age verification process as the cause, although MyData subscription by age verification was working normally. They say that the procedure was omitted from the process of agreeing to terms and conditions by additional services such as the installation of new applications (apps) connected to MyData and open banking.
"We missed the age verification process by the mistake of the person in charge in the process of adding a page so that you can apply for MyData service even when applying for new apps or open banking," Lotte Card explained. At the moment, all processes are working normally.
