[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] The local stock market is slowing down due to concerns over a U.S. interest rate hike and the sluggish Chinese economy, but "investing with debt" is rather increasing.

According to the Korea Financial Investment Association on the 20th, the balance of credit transaction loans reached 20.5572 trillion won as of the 17th, the highest this year. KOSPI is 10.6472 trillion won and KOSDAQ is 9.91 trillion won.

The balance of credit transaction loans is an amount that investors did not pay back after borrowing funds from securities firms to invest in stocks, and the increase in the balance means that borrowing investment has increased.

The KOSPI has been weak for six consecutive trading days, but the balance of credit loans is increasing. The KOSPI threatened the 2,500-point level as it closed at 2504.50, down 3.35% (86.76 points) from last week (14th-18th), while the KOSDAQ closed at 877.32, down 3.82% (34.88 points), but the balance of credit transaction loans increased by 87.5 billion won over the same period.
