[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Samsung BioLogics has filed a complaint against an employee who is scheduled to move to Lotte BioLogics on charges of violating trade secrets after detecting the leak of documents.

According to industry sources on the 18th, Samsung BioLogics recently filed a complaint with the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency against two employees who illegally took files and documents containing business information out of the company on charges of leaking trade secrets. The two employees had expressed their intention to leave the company, and one of them reportedly announced his intention to move to Lotte BioLogics.

In particular, Samsung BioLogics is reportedly strictly viewing the issue as it occurred after internal security has been greatly strengthened since March this year after the conflict with Lotte BioLogics was sparked last year over the outflow of human resources and infringement of trade secrets. After strengthening security, Samsung BioLogics is required to register electronic devices comparable to airport checkpoints and conduct X-ray inspections at all entrances of its headquarters in Songdo.

This time, Samsung Biologics confirmed that the data was leaked during the security search and retrieved all of the data. It is also known that it has sent content certification to Lotte BioLogics.
