[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Shinhan Bank automated an average of 11,000 cases and 13,400 hours of work per month based on its branches through Robot Process Automation (RPA).

Shinhan Bank RPA is called 'Alphabot (RPA bot)'. It is a service that automates simple and repetitive work processes performed by employees to help them handle their work efficiently. Currently, it is applied in more than 700 sales sites nationwide.

According to Shinhan Bank, 'Alphabot' has reduced workload by 13,400 hours. In particular, 'RPA Portal Service' has become a fast work partner for branch tellers. This is because you can apply for and utilize work automation services during the process of consulting with customers and handling tasks.

AI-OCR (Artificial Intelligence Character Reading) technology also contributed to fast work processing. This is because it has led to automation of the entire process, not a single task. By applying AI-OCR technology to tasks that employees have to manually enter, it can lead to automatic conversion and processing of application documents at once.

The Alphabot service is provided through 'AI Molly', a chatbot for employees, and can be used through employee PCs and mobile apps without space-time constraints. It is explained that it is possible to handle tasks such as guiding interest payments on the same day through mobile even while working outside the office, which helps prompt decision-making.
