[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] "In order for the media content ecosystem to form a virtuous cycle, network usage costs are important. "

Kang Kuk-hyun, head of KT's customer division (president), made the remarks at a meeting of the Ministry of Science and ICT on the 15th to announce plans to boost investment in digital media and content and expand financial support.

"There is a problem with network usage between SK Broadband and Netflix, and (it needs to be resolved)," CEO Kang said. "As it is a common interest of the (platform) industry, I hope the government will pay attention to it."

He said, "I hope that the Korea Communications Development Fund will be used more to support the media content business."

President Kang's remarks are interpreted as an intention that a virtuous circle can be established only when fair costs are made as the management conditions of the content and platform businesses continue to deteriorate.
