[Apha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] It has been confirmed that SK Hynix's memory semiconductor has been installed in Huawei's new smartphone, which is regulated by the United States. SK Hynix said it is not dealing with Huawei and is trying to figure out the circumstances of the incident.

Bloomberg reported on the 7th that it commissioned Tech Insight, a semiconductor consulting firm, to dismantle and analyze Huawei's new 'Mate 60 Pro', which included SK Hynix's mobile DRAM, Low Power Double Data Rate (LPDDR) 5 and NAND flash. He also explained that Huawei received most of the parts of the smartphone from Chinese companies, but exceptionally included products from SK Hynix, a foreign company.

SK Hynix says it has not done business with Huawei since the U.S. sanctions. He also explained that it is his policy to strictly comply with U.S. export regulations.

"Recognizing that our memory chip was used in Huawei's new product, we voluntarily reported it to the U.S. Department of Commerce's Industrial Security Agency," the company said. "We are looking into the circumstances of the incident."

The smartphone in question is a new product that was released by applying a processor produced by Huawei through a 7-nanometer process (1 billionth of a meter).
