KB Financial Vice Chairman Huh In and Yang Jong-hee and Vietnam HD Bank Chairman Kim Byung-ho have narrowed their second short list (final candidate group).
According to the financial sector on the 8th, the KB Financial Group Chairman Candidate Recommendation Committee will conduct an in-depth interview with three of the next chairman's second short lists. The final candidate is confirmed through a vote. The final candidate will then be appointed chairman through a shareholders' meeting on Nov. 20 after a recommendation process by the committee and the board of directors.
The financial sector expects the final candidate to come out of two vice chairmen of KB Financial, an internal figure. This is because KB Financial Group Chairman Yoon Jong-kyu has established a stable governance structure through management succession programs and established a succession structure by establishing a new vice chairman of the group since taking office.
Huh In is considered a strong candidate for the next president. The biggest strength is that he served as the president of KB Kookmin Bank, a key affiliate of KB Financial Group. In November 2017, he was selected as the youngest vice president of KB Kookmin Bank. For the first time since the establishment of KB Kookmin Bank, he succeeded in winning three consecutive terms.
Yang Jong-hee is a person who has been working with Chairman Yoon Jong-kyu for a long time. He has worked in KB Kookmin Bank and has worked in KB Financial Group to manage subsidiaries. It is said that no one has a history of banks, non-banking and strategic departments as Vice Chairman Yang.
