[Alpha Biz= Lee Hyung Jin and Kim Young Taek] A confidential internal document from Samsung Biologics related to media response strategies has been leaked externally, with metadata indicating that a person identified as “Jaesung Park” may have authored the file—fueling speculation over possible union involvement.
According to Alpha Biz reporting on May 13, an analysis of the metadata from a PDF file—converted from an Excel document titled “Detailed Media Sponsorship and Advertising Records for the Past Three Years”—revealed that the document’s author name was listed as “Jaesung Park.”
Notably, the name matches Park Jae-sung, head of the company’s co-prosperity labor union, who recently led the firm’s first-ever full-scale strike on May 1.

Industry experts note that author information is typically embedded automatically in a document’s metadata at the time of creation and can be viewed through standard tools such as Adobe Acrobat’s “Document Properties” feature. This suggests that system or account information from a specific user’s device may have remained in the file during the conversion process.

In response, Park denied any involvement in creating or distributing the leaked document, stating in a phone interview that “this was not material I released externally, and it is information accessible to anyone within the company.”
Meanwhile, on the same day the leak became public, Park shared a link to related news coverage on the union’s internal bulletin board, accusing management of engaging in media manipulation and contributing to the spread of critical sentiment.
