[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] Woori Financial Group is reportedly pursuing the acquisition of Daol Investment & Securities' Thailand subsidiary.
According to industry sources on August 21, Woori Financial has expressed interest in the acquisition to Daol's sale advisor, Samil PwC, and is currently conducting initial due diligence.
Daol Investment & Securities holds a 78.86% stake in Daol Thailand PCL, a holding company in Thailand with interests in securities, asset management, and REITs. The company has been looking to sell the subsidiary since the end of 2022 as part of efforts to secure liquidity.
A Woori Financial Group representative commented, "We are reviewing various investments to strengthen our global business, but nothing has been finalized yet."
