Honda, Nissan, and Mitsubishi, Japan's 2nd, 3rd, and 4th largest automakers, have joined forces to strengthen their alliance.

[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] According to Yonhap News on the 1st, Japanese automakers Honda, Nissan, and Mitsubishi Motors held a press conference in Tokyo that day and announced that Mitsubishi would join the comprehensive collaboration review memorandum of understanding (MOU) that Honda and Nissan signed last March.


The three companies are joining forces to secure competitiveness through mutual collaboration as the industry faces a major shift towards electrification and Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs).

Japan's Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported that for EV batteries, there is a consideration to supply Nissan with the production volume jointly produced by Honda and LG Energy Solution in North America starting from 2028. LG Energy Solution and Honda are building a battery joint venture plant in Ohio, USA.
