[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Kakao will launch a "Management Reform Committee" headed by founder Kim Bum-soo, head of the Future Initiative Center, to overcome the current management crisis.

Director of the center Kim said, "I have respected the authority for the autonomy and responsible management of each community so far, but as a founder and major shareholder, I will return to the time of start-up and take the lead in overcoming the crisis."

On the 6th, Kakao decided to launch a "management reform committee" by holding a second community management meeting in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, with Kim and about 20 representatives of Kakao's major affiliates attending. Kim, the head of the center, will head the committee, and CEOs of major communities will participate. The management reform committee will play a leading role in changing and innovating the entire Kakao community until it overcomes the current crisis facing Kakao. Attending the meeting were Kakao CEO Hong Eun-taek, Kakao Entertainment CEO Lee Jin-soo and Kakao Mobility CEO Ryu Geung-sun.

Along with the announcement of the launch of the Management Reform Committee, there were also sharing and discussions on the establishment and operation of the Compliance and Trust Committee.

The meeting also discussed ways to revamp Kakao Mobility, including fees for affiliated taxis. Kakao Mobility is preparing an emergency meeting with taxi organizations to overhaul the taxi fee system. We are coordinating the schedule with major taxi organizations and plan to reorganize the fee system based on the opinions collected here.
