[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Hyundai Glovis said on the 13th that it has started construction of a global logistics center (GDC) equipped with advanced automation facilities at Incheon International Airport's second airport logistics complex with the aim of completing it by 2025.

The GDC is the first air logistics site operated by Hyundai Glovis. It has five floors above ground and a total area of 44,420㎡ (13,437 pyeong) in the second airport logistics complex. It is 3㎞ away from the airport cargo terminal and has excellent accessibility. It is scheduled to be completed in 2025. Handle logistics 24 hours a day.

Hyundai Glovis is a strategy to use GDC as a hub for marine and air combined transportation business. It will handle an average of 25,000 tons of new cargo annually for five years from 2025, the first year of GDC operation, and expand its air logistics business.

Hyundai Glovis plans to build its first GDC as a global-class state-of-the-art logistics base. It is a strategy to combine logistics know-how accumulated so far, high-tech IT systems such as high-speed X-rays, and technology capabilities of Hyundai Motor Group affiliates.

Another strength is that the advanced logistics robot of Boston Dynamics (BD), a global robot company acquired by Hyundai Motor Group, is used for the first time. Through this, the company plans to attract high-tech companies such as demand for import customs clearance of global e-commerce companies and global semiconductor production supply chain equipment companies as customers.
