[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] HD Hyundai's ship autonomous operation company AVIKUS announced on the 10th that it will enter the autonomous operation system market for leisure boats.

AVIKUS will officially launch its autonomous navigation system 'NuBot Dock’' at the Cannes Yacht Festival, Europe's largest boat show, which will be held in Cannes, France from 12th (local time) to 17th.

NeuBoat Dock is equipped with Vickers's state-of-the-art autonomous navigation technology. The display, which consists of a total of six camera systems, provides precise collision avoidance and docking support. With a simple sensor configuration, boat builders can easily install it, and remote support is also possible if necessary.

AVIKUS has installed and displayed its New Boat Dock’ on three high-end leisure boats from leading European boat makers participating in the festival, allowing visitors to experience the system in real time.

According to HD Hyundai, the number of leisure boats worldwide is about 20 million. With 500,000 new units being built every year, the autonomous operation system for leisure boats is expected to grow to a maximum of 300,000 units per year in the future.
