[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] SEOUL, October 28, 2025 — Shinsegae International Inc. announced on Tuesday that it will transfer its ‘JAJU’ lifestyle division to Shinsegae Casa Co., Ltd. in a transaction valued at ₩94 billion (approximately US$67 million). The company said the move will allow it to focus on strengthening its core cosmetics and fashion operations, while enhancing investment capacity for new business opportunities.
In a board meeting held earlier in the day, Shinsegae International approved the decision to sell the JAJU division — which oversees the company’s home and lifestyle product line — to its affiliate Shinsegae Casa. The transfer will take effect on January 1, 2026, following an extraordinary shareholders’ meeting scheduled for December 10 and the completion of related administrative procedures by the end of December.
The transaction covers the entirety of the JAJU business, which offers home goods, bedding, kitchenware, lounge wear, and lifestyle essentials.
In 2024, JAJU reported approximately ₩235 billion (US$167 million) in annual sales, according to company filings.
A Shinsegae International spokesperson said:
“This decision reflects our strategic focus on reinforcing competitiveness in high-value sectors such as fashion and cosmetics, while optimizing our portfolio to create long-term growth potential.”
Industry analysts view the move as part of a group-wide portfolio realignment across Shinsegae affiliates, aligning Shinsegae Casa’s home furnishing expertise with JAJU’s lifestyle product portfolio to achieve greater operational synergy.
The restructuring is expected to improve profitability and capital efficiency within Shinsegae International, allowing it to channel resources into brand development, digital retail, and overseas expansion.
