[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] LG Innotek announced on the 16th that it has officially secured three international standard patents for charging electric vehicles.

LG Innotek's international standard patents recognized by 'Via LA', a standard patent licensing company specializing in electric vehicle charging, include △ charging control technology (two cases) based on battery status information and △ charging time reservation technology (one case). With this listing, LG Innotek will be able to speed up its entry into the electric vehicle parts market.

LG Innotek has thus been selected as a licensing company. Licensing means a party that permits the use of patent technology to others and receives royalties. Via LA has listed only eight companies worldwide, including △GE △ Bosch △ Siemens, including LG Innotek.

Recently, LG Innotek has dominated the market for future vehicles such as electric vehicles and autonomous vehicles as a new growth engine. It is conducting various research and development (R&D) activities such as charging electric vehicles by wire, technology that supports wireless charging methods, and power conversion technology for electric vehicles and external chargers.
