KAI signed a contract with Boeing to supply aircraft parts

[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Korea Aerospace (KAI) announced on the 14th that it has signed a contract with Boeing of the United States to supply composite parts for the B787·B777X steering surface. It will be delivered from 2024 to 2030 and the contract amount is 87.3 billion won.

This is the first time that a composite component has been ordered for the control of a large civil aircraft.

KAI has recently continued to win large-scale parts orders with Boeing, securing mid- to long-term food. In February this year, it signed a contract with Boeing to produce and supply major gas structures for five landing devices. The project period is from this year to 2030 and is worth 130 billion won.

KAI is increasing cooperation with Boeing following its 2021 contract to supply engine-mounted structures. Cooperation between the two companies is expanding because Boeing has also been increasingly looking for KAIs as the supply chain within the aircraft manufacturing industry has shaken significantly since the COVID-19 pandemic.
