[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Naver Pay experienced a service disruption lasting approximately three and a half hours on Wednesday, affecting payments and reservations.
According to Naver Pay, errors began around 12:00 p.m. local time, preventing users from completing payments, making reservations, and accessing point balances. The issue was resolved through emergency recovery measures at around 3:30 p.m.
During the outage, online shoppers reported failed transactions, pending error messages, and difficulties checking reward points.
Naver Pay apologized for the inconvenience, saying it would work to ensure more stable service going forward. The company added that the disruption does not appear to have been caused by hacking or other external factors, and that it is currently investigating the root cause.
