[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Shinsegae Group said on the 23rd that Vice Chairman Chung Yong-jin rebuked the management strategy office for the way it has worked in the past and called for it to change and innovate in a completely new way.

"It is time to look back heavily on our roles and achievements so far," Vice Chairman Chung said. "The new management strategy office should be the most researched and working organization within the group, not a reigning organization that controls and manages each affiliate."

Vice Chairman Chung also stressed that the way of work should be changed, and urged the management strategy office to work with the perception that responsibility is the heaviest as it is an organization in charge of the final decision-making of Shinsegae Group.

"If they do not change on their own and ask for change, no one follows it," Vice Chairman Chung said, adding that when he takes the initiative from the management strategy office and takes the lead in leading the change, the group's overall change will also be accelerated.

He also ordered a change in the organization and system of the management strategy office.

Vice Chairman Chung said the operation and decision-making of the management strategy office should be made in the most reasonable and clear way for the group's stable sustainable growth, stressing the formation of an organization that works organically based on systems, not on people. Vice Chairman Chung urged the management strategy office to ultimately play a role in creating a predictable business environment.
