[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Naver has carried out a "relocation of manpower" to send employees of its less profitable affiliates to other affiliates.

According to the IT industry on the 19th, NAVER (035420) has recently completed the relocation of half of its cake staff, an affiliate of the English education app, to other affiliates.

Cake is an English education app launched by Snow, a content subsidiary of Naver. It grew rapidly during the COVID-19 pandemic and became independent as a subsidiary of Snow in October 2020.

As of the end of 2022, cumulative downloads exceeded 100 million and the number of active monthly users (MAU) exceeded 10 million. As the service grew rapidly, the number of people also increased significantly.

However, after the pandemic, the number of users decreased significantly and faced a crisis. In the end, Naver decided to slim down its excessive organization and relocated half of its employees to other affiliates.

Naver is known to have supported the relocation of its employees in various ways, as it is practically difficult for all employees to go to all of their desired affiliates.
