[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] Woori Bank, gearing up to enter the Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) market, has chosen LG Uplus (032640) as its network partner.


According to industry sources on the 29th, Woori Bank recently selected LG Uplus as its preferred negotiation partner for MVNO network wholesale provision. Both parties are expected to sign a wholesale contract for MVNO next month.

Following Kookmin Bank, Woori Bank is the second financial institution to prepare for entry into the MVNO market. The selection of a network wholesale provider is expected to accelerate Woori Bank's entry into the MVNO market.

Meanwhile, as of March, the MVNO market recorded 91,666,672 mobile phone lines, with the anticipation of surpassing 10 million subscribers.
