[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] DK Techin, a subsidiary of Kakao's system integration (SI), announced on the 23rd that it merged with KEP, which was physically divided from Kakao Enterprise.

The merger date is March 1st.

KEP is a company that was spun off from Kakao Enterprise with a capital of 100 million won starting in January of this year.

Kakao Enterprise, which was spun off at the end of 2019 from AI Lab, Kakao's first in-house independent company (CIC), is a company that has reduced and separated its non-core business except for the cloud sector as it suffers from losses.

Major businesses include artificial intelligence (AI) technology brand 'Kakao i', AI-based business platform 'Kakao i Connect' and business communication platform 'Kakao Work'.

DK Techin has been providing system integration and information technology (IT) comprehensive services to Kakao affiliates since 2015.
