Micron's semiconductor subsidy is less than Samsung's

[Alpha Biz= Reporter Paul Lee] Micron Technology, a U.S. company competing with Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix in memory semiconductors, is expected to receive more than 8 trillion won in subsidies under the U.S. Peninsula Act, according to a report.

Citing multiple anonymous sources, Bloomberg reported on the 17th (local time) that Micron, the largest memory chip maker in the U.S., is expected to receive more than $6 billion (about 8.28 trillion won) in subsidies from the U.S. Department of Commerce.

It is unclear whether Micron plans to receive loan support under the Bando Act in addition to subsidies.

The U.S. Department of Commerce is expected to announce its support as early as next week.

Earlier, the US government announced a subsidy plan for Intel, TSMC, and Samsung Electronics.

The amount of subsidies to Samsung Electronics is $ 6.4 billion (about 8.832 trillion won).
