[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun·Lee Junhyun] Highly speculated Apple foldable iPhone known as ‘iPhone Flip’ is set to be launched in 2026.
Apple has been focusing on fixing Samsung foldable phone’s technical weakness, crease on the screen.
According to Alphabiz, Apple finalized the launch of iPhone Flip to 2026 and the company initiated the process of selecting key suppliers for the upcoming model.
Apple’s high ranked individual said “The company decided the launch year of the iPhone Flip to 2026 after brooding on it. The new model will be thinner and lighter than competitors’ models. The screen will have no crease, which other competitors are struggled to fix”

LG Display and Samsung Display, leading high-end foldable display manufacturers, are known to prepare technical requirements and specification data requested by Apple.
According to the relevant industry experts, Apple has initiated parts and assembly supplier selection processes two years prior to launching new models in the past.
Based on precedent, Apple is expected to choose key suppliers before the first half of next year.
Umbrella Research Executive Director Yoon Joo-Ho said, “Since iPhone Foldable launch date is set to 2026, LG Display, Samsung Display, and other major suppliers will be in fierce competition to secure the primary supplier position.” He added, “Investors should pay close attention to the defense strategy of foldable smartphone sector leader Samsung Electronics as Apple’s entry to the market is set.”
Apple responded, “The company hasn’t shared a plan or timeline of the new product with external parties.”
