[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] On the 9th, Hyundai Motor announced that it has completed the final acquisition of the domestic fuel cell business from Hyundai Mobis.

In February, Hyundai Motor and Hyundai Mobis signed an acquisition agreement to integrate the existing fuel cell business, which was separated into R&D and production.

With the completion of the acquisition process last month, Hyundai Motor now consolidates the technological capabilities and resources, including facilities, assets, R&D, production quality personnel, and more related to Hyundai Mobis' fuel cell business. This integration enables Hyundai Motor to accelerate technological innovation and product development. As part of this acquisition, Hyundai Motor has established a "Fuel Cell Process Quality Lab" within the fuel cell development center of its R&D headquarters and formed an organization responsible for manufacturing technology and production quality.

Hyundai Motor aims to leverage the integrated fuel cell organization to enhance the technological competitiveness of fuel cells and improve production quality. It also plans to expand the sale of fuel cells for various applications beyond hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles. Furthermore, efforts will be made to reduce infrastructure and operating costs and increase operational efficiency through a unified management system to supply products at competitive prices.
