[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] Chinese shopping platform AliExpress has announced that it is not participating in discussions regarding the acquisition of Homeplus.

On the 18th, AliExpress Korea issued an official statement, saying, "Regarding recent reports that AliExpress Korea is in negotiations for a merger or acquisition with a domestic retail company, we officially state that we are not participating in such discussions."

They further stated, "AliExpress Korea will continue to prioritize consumer rights protection and strive to do its best for mutual growth with domestic sellers and the Korean market."

The statement was issued by AliExpress Korea, but it was distributed after confirmation from the leadership of Alibaba Group, to which AliExpress belongs, specifically Alibaba International Digital Commerce Group (AIDC).
