[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Vietnamese health authorities have ordered a nationwide recall of certain arthritis treatment products after identifying quality issues.
According to local media reports on March 25, the Drug Administration of Vietnam under the Ministry of Health announced that a specific lot (ACT3003) of the film-coated tablet formulation of aceclofenac 100mg failed to meet quality standards, prompting the recall decision.
The affected product was found to fall short in several key parameters, including content uniformity, impurity levels, moisture content, and active ingredient concentration. Authorities classified the issue as a “Class 2 quality violation,” indicating potential risks such as reduced therapeutic efficacy or possible side effects.
The government has ordered an immediate halt to distribution and sales, along with a full recall of the affected products within 15 days. Medical institutions and pharmacies have also been instructed to suspend prescriptions and use of the drug. The manufacturer will bear full responsibility for the recall costs and related liabilities.
