[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Minyoung] According to Bloomberg, Samsung Electronics is consolidating its North American Artificial Intelligence (AI) research centers and hiring former Apple executives, as reported by sources on June 11th (local time).

The company is said to be creating a new organization called the 'North American AI Center' by integrating AI labs located in Toronto, Canada, and Mountain View, California, USA.

This move is aimed at centralizing operations for operational improvement and efficiency enhancement, with a former Apple executive leading the initiative. Bloomberg views this development as a signal of global IT companies taking a more aggressive stance in the field of AI.
