[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] Woowa Bros announced on the 2nd that CEO Lee resigned for personal reasons. CEO Lee has been in office since January last year after Woowa Bros founder Kim Bong-jin stepped down from his post in 12 years. The next representative has not been appointed yet. However, Woowa Bros held a board meeting earlier in the day and appointed Pieter-Jan Vandepitte, an in-house director, as a temporary representative.

Vandepitte will serve as an interim representative until the next president, who is currently in office, is officially appointed. The representative of Vandepitte is Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Delivery Hero. The company explains that the decision is for stable management because it was involved in discussions and decision-making on the service as a whole as a member of the board of directors within the Woowa Brothers.

The next representative nominee will be appointed after a shareholders' meeting and a board meeting next month. Lee is a former consulting firm McKinsey and joined Woowa Bros in 2017. Since then, it has played a key role in growing Woowahan brothers by creating food delivery businesses such as Baemin 1 and delivery commerce businesses such as B-Mart and Baemin Store.

Meanwhile, Woowahan Brothers' consolidated sales last year were 3.4155 trillion won, up 15.9% from the previous year, and operating profit was 699.8 billion won, up 65% from the previous year. The German parent company Delivery Hero (DH) collected more than 400 billion won in dividends last year for the first time since the acquisition of Baemin.

The Woowahan brothers described the background of Lee's resignation as "current personal reasons."
