[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] Naver announced on the 30th that Majed Al Qasabi, the Saudi Arabian Minister of Commerce, and his delegation visited Naver's second headquarters, 1784, on the 29th.
The delegation from Saudi Arabia included Majed Al Qasabi, Minister of Commerce and Chairman of the National Competitiveness Center; Ayman Al Mutaeri, Vice Minister of Commerce and CEO of the National Competitiveness Center; and Sami Al Sadhan, Saudi Arabian Ambassador to South Korea. Naver representatives who welcomed them included Chae Sun-joo, Naver's Head of External & ESG Policy; Kim Yoo-won, CEO of Naver Cloud; and Seok Sang-ok, CEO of Naver Labs.
Minister Al Qasabi and his delegation experienced various "tech convergence" examples, where advanced technologies like digital twin, robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), and cloud services are integrated into physical spaces by Naver, Naver Cloud, and Naver Labs. The 1784 building is recognized as the world's first robot-friendly building, featuring over 110 "Rookie" robots with their "brains" in the cloud. These robots navigate the building’s 36 floors and 165,000 square meters without GPS, assisting employees by locating their positions and performing tasks.
The delegation was introduced to Naver's capabilities in search, commerce, and content, and explored various collaboration opportunities to promote Saudi Arabia's digital economy.
Additionally, Naver has officially commenced its digital twin construction project in Saudi Arabia this month.
